Our research work focuses on building fundamental capabilities to address practical problems that limit the use and potential impact of robotics in industry. The capabilities will be demonstrated in two real-life application platforms (or showcases) with immediate applications to the offshore/marine and aerospace industry. The fundamental capabilities are divided into 5 work packages:
Interface (man-robot interface for task definition, setup/programming and operations)
Perception (pre, during and post robotic operations)
Planning (of required robot motions and adaptive grippers)
Control (of dynamic interaction between motion and force during continuous contact)
Adaptation (for uncertainties and to achieve fast configuration and deployment)
These 5 work packages directly support another 3 other work packages, which are two real-life showcases and RADOE (Robot Application Development and Operating Environment).
